In collaboration with the North Face & IBM Watson
we set out to create an AI driven experience that helps customers find their perfect jacket by asking questions about their shopping needs and travel plans. Drawing inspiration from AI’s presence in Sci-fi movies and novels we created a personality for Watson uniquely tailored to the North Face. We brainstormed and identified ways to use animation and design to communicate very basic ideas such as thinking, speaking and understanding without sacrificing simplicity. We also fully submersed ourselves in the technology behind Watsons cognitive computing technology to clearly understand the strengths, weakness and limitations of the AI to not only inform the UI but the underlying structure of how Watson approaches a conversation.
